The company traded predominantly in wholesale canned meats in the early years before expanding into a wider range of ambient foods. The company grew steadily, establishing a generic range under the main brand "Riverdene".
The company began importing during the early 1980's, mainly Italian tomato products then progressing to other Italian products such as pasta, pulses, vegetables & fruits. It was good commercial sense to look into other markets in Europe, such as Spain, Greece, Turkey, thereafter the Far-East and worldwide. We now operate in over 25 countries.
Originally based in Enfield, Middlesex, the head office moved in 1996 to Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. The company then subsequently moved into bigger offices in the county town of Hertford in May 2011.
We have National Sales Account Managers situated throughout the country to provide regional customer service.

The company Chairman & Founder James Donnelly is still actively involved in the management of the company.
The Joint Managing Directors, Martin Donnelly and Mathew Donnelly have been working within the company since the mid 1980’s and are responsible for purchasing, sales and pricing.
The Sales Director is Malcolm Smith who has a wealth of experience in the food industry, particularly the canned foods markets.
Loraine Haydon is head of H.R. and p.a. to the director's, an essential part of the team.
The shipping department is managed by Wayne Everett and Grant Pearce.
Martin Mathew has two technical managers. Kevin Hogan who is based in the Hertford Head Office, and Christine Allen who is based at our Kings Lynn warehouse.
Julie Dale and Vikki Wilson are responsible for order processing and customer service.
